FEATURING DAYTON MOORE
FEATURED SPEAKER: DAYTON MOORE
Dayton Moore is a Senior Advisor, Baseball Operations for the Texas Rangers. He served as a key consultant to Rangers General Manager Chris Young and the baseball operations group that built the first World Series championship team in the franchise’s 63-year history. The Rangers secured the club’s first-ever title by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 World Series, four-games-to-one.
Moore has now served in key roles with three different franchises accounting for six World Series appearances and three world championship titles: Atlanta in 1995, Kansas City in 2015, and Texas in 2023.
Moore served in nearly every facet of baseball operations before ascending to the General Manager role with the Kansas City Royals in 2006. He began his career as an area scout and has served as Assistant Director of Scouting, Director of International and Pro Scouting, Director of Player Development, and Assistant General Manager of Player Personnel. In his final role with Atlanta as Assistant GM, he oversaw all of scouting and player development.
After the 2014 season, the Royals were selected as the Baseball America “Organization of the Year” for just the second time since the publication started the award in 1982, and Moore was awarded the “Executive of the Year” by Major League Baseball (GIBBY Awards) as well as the Kansas City Sports Commission.
Moore and his wife Marianne founded C You In The Major Leagues in November 2013 to support youth baseball, education, families in crisis, and faith-based programs and organizations. Moore moved to Kansas City from Atlanta in June 2006, when he became the sixth general manager in Royals history. Under Moore’s leadership, the Royals built one of the best farm systems in baseball en route to winning the 2015 World Series in the club’s second consecutive trip to the Fall Classic, and first World Series championship since 1985. That was following the club reaching the postseason for the first time in 29 years as they won the 2014 American League championship by setting a Major League record with eight-straight wins in the playoffs.
Dayton and Marianne live in Leawood, Kansas. They have two daughters, Ashley and Avery, and a son, Robert.
